Peabody Essex Museum PEM PM MAY 2016
Celebrate the emotional and psychological complexities of human beings with a night of dancing and sculpting in honor of Rodin: Transforming Sculpture. Watch contortionists bend and flex their bodies or try your hand at traditional figure drawing, before witnessing sculpting and pottery in action with the MIT Student Art Association. Treat your own body with therapeutic chair massages and French-style cocktails and cuisine while listening to classical remixes by M0zrat.
Enjoy participatory experiences with a creative and expressive body movement workshop with Sallee Slagle of Forty Steps Dance, and a guided gallery interactive with MIT neuroscientists Dae Houlihan and Sarah Schwettmann who will share their perspectives on the neuroscience of empathy, embodied cognition and human emotional experience inspired by Rodin.
